Profile

The low-ceilinged, stucco-walled room evokes Arizona 206, but the wine list, full of interesting New World selections, is a happy surprise in a place that visually prepares you for a margarita onslaught. The whimsical menu, too, breaks the mold with unexpected combinations like mole-braised short ribs with jalapeño gnocchi and “Santa Fe shepherd’s pie of chili mac and Iggy’s jack.”

On the whole I was not very happy with Agave. Though we had a reservation, we still waited 30 minutes for our table. When we were seated, our waiter took a long time to even come bring us water / introduce himself, and then remained pretty inattentive the remainder of the night. Our food took a long time to come, but when it did it was pretty good. It has a nice atmosphere, but until they work on improving their service I would say the experience was just ok.

Yummy food/ great atmosphere

I've lived in the West Village for years and for some reason I was never drawn to Agave. Let me tell you how big of a mistake this was. It wasn't until I was recommended to go here through a website my friend sent me, eateryexpert.com. I was looking for a place where we could host a large dinner in a fun environment and not too pricey - first on there list was agave. DELICIOUS is the first word that comes to mind - Perfect food for a night out and even more perfect of a margarita. The margarita was about the size of my head and I drank it all enjoying the fresh strawberrys at the bottom. I had a great experience and I promise you that you will too!
