The third iteration of Alice’s Tea Cup is a slim room designed with stroller-pushing parents in mind. A wide walkway makes space for butterfly-winged tots while the long, red-and-gold velvet-upholstered banquette seems built for cozy after-school snacks such as Granny Smith apples with Nutella or graham crackers with honey. Adults can savor detox teas and thirteen types of African Rooibos, with their cucumber-watercress sandwiches or their gooey lapsang souchongs—thinly sliced smoked chicken breast with sliced apple and melted Gruyère or goat cheese on seven-grain bread. Those late for a very important date, beware: This rabbit hole is not a place for rushing. So sip your cuppa, read the text of Alice in Wonderland scripted across the walls, and leave the Mad Hatter world behind.
