This bright-orange-and-yellow nook of a deli is a neighborhood takeout staple where regulars don’t hesitate to order “the usual” and know the counter staff by name. The menu covers diner terrain: sandwiches, eggs, chopped salads, and, of course, namesake burgers and wraps. Fat 8-ounce beef patties are plenty filling and juicy, but the thick-cut fries that accompany them are slightly mealy and bland. Potato enthusiasts can opt for baked spuds packed with expected toppings like cheese, bacon, and broccoli, and some atypical ones, including breaded chicken doused in tomato sauce and covered in mozzarella. A small selection of ready-made desserts turns up a richly dense, raisin-studded rice pudding. Soft-drink coolers jutting out from the wall and lines for the cash register make the long, narrow space feel even more cramped, and seating—at tables and booths—is scarce for in-house diners, but a surprisingly large patio out back allows for outdoor noshing in warm weather.
