Operating out of a tiny storefront on Flushing Avenue, Arancini Bros. features six rotating varieties of risotto balls. The delicious original ragu ball with meat sauce, mozzarella cheese, peas, and saffron is featured daily, along with some simple variations like a three-cheese blend or chicken fontina, as well as more complex combinations such as broccoli with béchamel sauce and Gruyere, or carbonara, with pancetta, egg, and cheese; occasionally, there are even salmon or lobster options. Sweet versions include Nutella with cinnamon and sugar and roasted squash with sage and pine nuts. Like the squash ball, a vegetarian/vegan option is usually available, whether it be with cauliflower, mushrooms, or spinach. Whatever is available the day of your visit, you can expect a tasty and filling snack, fried to order. Though it's rice-balls-only inside the storefront, a window faces into the adjoining dive bar, the Wreck Room, offering a more extensive menu including a hefty portion of fresh-cut fries and two kinds of chicken wings: spicy buffalo sauce or dry-rubbed.
