Profile
Middle-aged suburbanite women pack this Italian spot nightly, attesting to the wild popularity of PBS chef Lidia Bastianich. For them, she is surrogate mother and they gather at her tables for several helpings of al dente pastas. The consistently competent all-you-can-eat three-pasta prix-fixe dinner is also an affordable alternative to Becco's East Side cousin Felidia, as is the gently priced Italian wine list. But the closest that her fans—or anyone—will get to Bastianich here is buying her cookbook, sometimes making it feel like you're eating not in her kitchen, but in her factory.
Prix-Fixe MenuLunch, $17.95; dinner, $22.95; all-you-can-eat-three-pastas
