The downstairs space at Danny Meyer's Tabla can feel like what it essentially is—a lobby with a fancy restaurant overhead. But it's best to ignore that notion and set to work kicking back any number of the wines served in stemless glasses, boutique beers on draft or signature cocktails. Pair them with a sampling of what may be the best bar food in the city.
