Park Slope may not be starved for an unfussy place to hang, but its residents do hanker for fancy burgers. Set on a busy corner above an F-train stop, The Brooklyn Burger Bar tries to feed both needs. The handsome dining room has dark wood, a long marble-topped bar, and trendy filament lightbulbs; an adjacent lounge has a pool table and a dart board. The menu sticks to the basics: grilled-chicken sandwiches, fried chicken tenders, and a half-dozen burgers, including Kobe beef. Other variations are all of grade-A American chuck; the namesake variation is sizzled in Brooklyn beer and served with bacon, mozzarella, grilled onions, and plump steak-cut fries. The real appeal here is ultimately as straightforward as the name.
