Founding chef (and restaurant namesake) Chloe Coscarelli is no longer involved with this rapidly expanding chain, but that hasn’t slowed business at this original location. The cozy interior features plush bench seating along one wall, a communal table in the center, and smaller tables along the periphery. The plant-based menu consists of hearty salads, burgers, and sandwiches that are perfect for lunch, satisfying but not too heavy. The burger patties are made from tempeh, legumes, and seeds (there are two burger patties: one is made from tempeh, lentils, chia, and walnuts; the other from black beans, quinoa, and sweet potato), while the “meatballs” in the pesto sub are a mélange of brown rice and mushrooms. If you’re on the go, there are even healthy packaged to-go items, including cold-pressed juices, salads, and chia pudding.
