This kosher pizza-meets-sushi-meets-seafood establishment, opened in 2001 by Shaul and Tikva Ashkenazi, has done the Midwood area proud. Yes, the boisterous and somewhat underdecorated space is a bit loud as huge groups and families yell over one another, but the food is a breath of fresh air in the schnitzel- and shwarma-laden Kosher world. The pizza crusts are surprisingly crunchy and can be altered with thick crust or sprinkled with sesame seeds; the margherita version finds the idyllic space between salty and sweet. The massive stuffed artichokes burst with mushrooms and Parmesan bathed in a lemony drizzle, and the hearty baked ziti, if overly saucy, can easily feed two. The desserts are also a draw; all are handmade on site, like the chocolate soufflé and an alluringly named peanut-butter dream cake.
