Landmark French bistro with talked-about souffles. Flemish-style building hosts local business folks at lunch. Dinner is a New York mix of neighborhood regulars, tourists, and trekkers from uptown. Dishes to try include the terrine Provençal and the roast duckling with ginger-and-cassis sauce. Although this super-romantic downtown bistro might not seem like a good family spot, if you’re looking to introduce your brood to fine dining, this is the place to do it. The setting is lovely, the service is accommodating, and they’ll even make special dishes for children.
