In the relative culinary wasteland of the Port Authority area, Carbone gets points for its cozy interior and spacious back patio, though most of the food leaves something to be desired. Friendly servers offer free bruschetta as you're seated and simple dishes like the salumi platter are reliable starters, but the "market fresh" Insalata di Mare is anything but. Generous homemade pasta entrees like the fettuccine with artichokes, smoked ham, and cherry tomatoes are bland, and the lamb medallions would taste better accompanied by a vegetable or other side (those cost extra). A selection of pizzas, as well as a full bar and short list of beer-and-wine options, round out the offerings.Recommended Dishes
