When it opened, this Curry Hill restaurant brought with it French influences and high expectations about high-falutin Indian food: lamb curry cooked with cognac and cashew-crusted chicken marinated in Grand Marnier. But since the departure of chef Tuhin Dutta, the menu has been downgraded to standard Indian fare with some incongruous Chinese dishes thrown in. (You'll find spring rolls listed next to samosas.) The lunch buffet is standard-issue. Roti and naan come fresh from the oven; Navratan korma combines saffron-scented vegetables in a reduced milk sauce with pliant paneer cheese. You’d do better with the Tandoori mixed-grill or the lamb Biryani than with dishes from India’s southwestern coast, such as Goan shrimp or fish curry.

The lunch buffet serves standards similar to others on the block.
