Despite being smack in the middle of Times Square, this kitschy, theatre-themed restaurant inside the Doubletree Hotel is deserted—and with good cause. With mediocre food and no view, even tourists can figure out there are better options nearby. The modest dining room is designed to look like a stage; multicolored spotlights are suspended above the floor on black rigging while the rear wall is painted as a themed backdrop. Still, the room feels cold and dim, more like a catering hall than Broadway. The menu is the sort of catch-all to be expected for the neighborhood, and the kitchen carries out its orders without care. Burgers aren’t offered cooked to order. The only passable choice is the salad made with arugula and walnuts, then dressed with a restrained sherry vinaigrette.Recommended Dishes
