This lynchpin in Jeffrey Chodorow’s restaurant empire may not be as hot as it was in its prime, but it still retains some of its original edge. Located in midtown’s CBS headquarters, this grandiose Asian fusion eatery still attracts expense-accounters and power players. Granite walls, a handsome backlit bar, and elaborate Japanese lantern-like light fixtures emanate an upscale vibe. The food, while a relic of the fusion-crazed nineties, has retained the ability to impress. Some age-old favorites are the Peking duck salad in tangerine orange dressing, and the inventive tempura sashimi. Don’t let the prices scare you too much—portions are meant to be shared.
Recommended DishesPeking duck salad, $17.50; tempura sashimi, $17
