Profile

The rise of all-you-can-eat Brazilian rodizio restaurants is clearly a phenomenon closely related to the American steakhouse explosion. Churrascaria Plataforma is Manhattan's best rodizio by far, and also its most expensive and upscale (which can feel somewhat forced, given that it's basically a smorgasbord). You get your salads and sides from the teeming buffet; thereafter commences a parade of waiters bearing roasted meats on skewers—often as many as twenty varieties in an evening. If you can eat every one of them, and ask for seconds, you'll earn the admiration of the waitstaff, if not the owners.

Extra
It may seem odd that there's sushi in a Brazilian restaurant, but Brazilians are crazy for sushi: Most every rodizio in Brazil offers it.

This restaurant should be on everyone's list of things they would like to do before they die! If there is one restaurant in the City that is a must-go-to just once, this is it! But I want to live there! Hah! The food is great, the service is great, and you can't help but have a fun time with all those waiters circling like 747s in holding patterns over JFK!

A MOVABLE FEAST

I am vegetarian. My companion is a meat eater , However, I do not cook meats at home , It is a real treat for us when we go. Actually tomorrow with a group of 12. The manager is friendly (and handsome) . No matter how stuffed you are the grilled cheese squares are delicious .A must try. If you dislike a steak house that smells like meat as I do. You will not be bothered by the smells of meat. It is clean and the many, many waiters are more like performers, It is truly a movable feast. Judi Jones
