Profile

This venue is closed.

When Penny Bradley closed Lyon, she turned the space into Cole’s and ditched the French menu for upscale comfort food. Now the walls are covered in framed sketches of abstract art. Separated into three rooms, Cole’s features chic stools for dining at the bar, plush leather chairs in the back dining room, and dark wooden booths. With proximity to the meatpacking district and a cocktail menu curated by Johnny Sweat, of Jimmy at the James, the space has a pre-night-out hotspot feel with crowd-pleasing menu options like velvety squash ravioli with ricotta salata and toasted pumpkin seeds or a well-seasoned Pat LaFrieda cheddar cheeseburger. Whether served with the burger or on their own, Cole’s fries are not to be missed: Crunchy and delicately pointed, they come served in a silver cone with a tangy garlic mayo. Funky drinks like an Apple Jack old-fashioned or a Grumpy Old Man—made hot with peppercorns—round out the mix.

Recommended Dishes

Cole’s fries, $8; squash ravioli, $11
