Floor-to-ceiling windows offer passers-by a peek of the rainbow array of ice cream and sorbet that often stops them in their tracks, especially on hot and humid summer days. The handmade, Argentine-style ice cream is marked by a gelato-like elasticity and comes in two dozen lively flavors, from classic hazelnut to sweet tiramisu to exotic, creamy yerba maté (pronounced ma-tay), based on a bitter, South American tea. Nothing is quite as refreshing as the dozen icy sorbets, however, like the soothing watermelon, palate-tickling ginger and juicy blueberry. After a few bites, it becomes clear why regulars of the clean, well-lit spot consider it one of Argentina's most winning imports since dulce de leche and grass-fed beef.
Recommended DishesCoffee mocha chip, $4.25; maté, $4.25; blueberry sorbet, $4.25
