The restaurant scene in Park Slope has gravitated ineluctably to Fifth Avenue, where this rustic osteria has staked its own atmospheric claim. Communal farmhouse tables, candlelight, and rusted iron farm implements on the wall conspire to create an old-world ambience—that, and the Mediterranean menu, which changes often, and incorporates dishes from Italy, Spain, and Portugal. The whole grilled fish, the steak for two, the seafood couscous (offered seasonally), and the pastas are highly recommended, so make every effort not to OD on the tapas-like appetizers.
