Profile

This venue is closed.

At both lunch and dinner, Cove Bistro keeps busy by fielding delivery orders from office-bound Wall Streeters and locals in the surrounding luxury high-rises. The place itself underscores the area’s corporate-neutral feel, with scant atmosphere or culinary innovation. Its entryway opens into a square room that’s often as deserted as the wide, wind-swept streets, all too visible beyond the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Pale gray walls are tacked with landscape paintings that look lifted from a hotel hallway, and fake flowers top white and royal-blue tablecloths. The soundtrack is—what else?—eighties pop. Billed as a bistro but offering self-described Italian fare, the restaurant has a wide-ranging menu—from a pesto tuna wrap to penne jambalaya—that aims to please almost any palate. A slab of fiery Cajun chicken in a thick tomato sauce, served with chile-powder-coated potato wedges, has plenty of kick. Most dishes are similarly simple and reliably prepared, but some of the more Italian specialties come up short. No matter the choice, you’ll likely enjoy it more in the comforts of your home—or cubicle.
