While there isn’t much competition for the honor of best crêpes in the Columbia area, Crêpes on Columbus might win anyway. Savory crêpes, made to order with buckwheat flour, are stuffed with tempting combinations of cheeses, meats, and vegetables; if one of the many suggested combinations doesn’t quite fit your fancy, there’s always the option to build your own. Sweet crêpes range from the simple (butter and sugar) to the baroque (sautéed apple, golden raisin, almond and crème fraîche), but all are tasty, hot, and fresh. Just be prepared to wait for a seat on the weekend—it’s a popular place, and like the food, the pace of dining is very, very French.
Recommended DishesSavory crepe with mushrooms, goat cheese and caramelized onions, $10
