Profile

This venue is closed.

Tucked back from S. 2nd Street in an old police-car repair shop, Crown Victoria (or ‘Crown Vic’) is named after the popular Ford model, which fits its sprawling junkyard of a backyard (one of the largest in town). Inside are narrow wooden booths and long bar, with a generous outdoor area in front adorned with bright red picnic tables under green umbrellas, and the aforementioned giant gravel-topped space in back. Though most patrons come to drink, there are weekend brunch deals and plenty to pick on when the beer munchies set in. Small plates include slightly dry pulled pork sliders, with ale-braised meat and coleslaw. Skip the deep-fried pickles that turn out to be overly breaded and heavy. The grass-fed burger is good enough, with LaFrieda beef, arugula, pickled red onions and thick cut fries. And things continue to improve with the entrees, like the beer battered fish ‘n’ chips with tartar sauce and malt vinegar.
