1668 Sheepshead Bay Rd.,
Brooklyn, NY 11235
|
This pizza spot smack in the middle of Sheepshead Bay Road has maintained its loyal following since 1957: The shabby pizza counter up front, with its sixties-esque menu board and vintage photos of the neighborhood, is always packed, and the unpretentious slabs of tables in the back are consistently filled. While the regular slices of pie are a saucy delight, it’s the alfredo pizza, with its rich sauce and salty bacon, that inspires a gut-bombing addiction, along with cheese-heavy heroes and satiating pastas like penne alla vodka in a mellow pink sauce. The oily garlic knots and, perhaps unexpectedly, the meaty Buffalo wings are also popular with the clamoring crowd.
Recommended DishesAlfredo pie, $19; eggplant parmigiana hero, $7; penne alla vodka, $9.50
