Find tasty, sweet, and unabashedly hearty fare cooked by Shane Lyons (Momofuku) at this dark, high-ceilinged “modern American public house.” Meals here start with complimentary popcorn dusted with garlic, brewer’s yeast, and cumin. There's no shortage of glazes, sauces, mayonnaise, and good, old fat in the dishes, which include twice-fried wings, doubly or perhaps triply glazed with sugary Gochujang sauce. Consider sharing a few small things, like the kale and carrot salad (though note that it includes a heavy Dijon dressing). If you're only looking for a small snack with your Narragansett lager (none of the beers on the menu, which include PBR, are over $8), go with Lyons’s heavenly fingerling-shaped tater tots. Entrées are on the sweet side, but that’s no reason to ignore the tender pork ribs, balanced with roasted apples and onions, or the welcomingly tart and fleshy scallops, served on top of smoked duck. If you sit at the chef’s counter, Lyons himself might offer you some moonshine, a shot of high-proof, clear whiskey, followed by a shot of flavored shrub—his take on a pickleback.
