This New American sea-centric restaurant is decked out with two elegant stories of hardwood floors, two long wooden bars, a cozy upstairs patio, and downstairs street seating. During happy hour, there are $1 oysters and discounted local brews and wines. Dinner service is more romantic, with softer lighting and elegant dishes meant for sharing, teeing off with the complimentary pretzel bread served with housemade stone-ground mustard, creamy whipped butter, and a decadent olive oil whip. Start with something from the raw bar, which includes oyster perennials like Fanny Bay and Blue Points along with crab, shrimp, and clams. Appetizers include a seared rainbow trout served with fregola, olives, and grapefruit. Entrees are nice, too: The Yellowfin tuna steak pops thanks to the orange-soy-veal reduction, and the waiter-lauded New York strip streak and short rib duo sits atop a carrot-citrus puree, brown butter potatoes, and swims in roasted garlic jus.
