Eric Perlmutter and Eddie Bergman, the E and E behind this midtown steakhouse on the ground floor of the Pearl Hotel, have a modest goal: to make the ever-popular meat-and-potatoes format more accessible, with four of the five cuts of beef coming in at under $40, including a side. The menu also extends a bit further than other red-meat temples, featuring items like grilled caesar salad and house-smoked salmon, and encourages diners to customize their sirloin or strip with mix-and-match sauces and optional add-ons like creamed corn with jalapeno and bacon. The 110-seat space is intended to feel homey and warm.
