Stainless steel bar: check. Futuristic-looking plastic chairs and weird three-dimensional art: check. The furnishings, the retro-modern soundtrack (Prince, Madonna), and the truffle-infused menu all seem to shout “well-oiled Manhattan eatery.” And much of the early dinner crowd, many headed for the theater, seems to buy it, scarfing up dishes like veal-, raisin-, and amaretto-filled ravioli with sage, butter. The pasta and the prix fixe are worthwhile, but the rest of the menu proves less rewarding. Overall, the experience falls short, like an outsider’s idea of a sophisticated night out on the town.
ExtraThere’s a private party space on the second floor.
