Profile

A ward of the trendy Thompson Hotel Gild Hall, this intimate 35-seat restaurant and wine lounge is swathed in dark wood and lit by chandeliers made from traditional wine jugs. Felice aims to cater to all crowds: For the early-risers, croissants and organic omelettes; for the business-lunchers, the restaurant boasts an upscale burger embellished with cow's-milk crescenza and pancetta. The broad brass bar at the entrance is a suitable perch for postwork drinks off a wine list 100-bottles strong, many of which are sustainable, organic, or biodynamic. Entrées include a variety of pastas with wheat and gluten-free options upon request. No new ground is covered by the slightly bland ricotta and spinach ravioli; however, the homemade fusili in a light tomato sauce is artfully presented—shrimp, scallops, and halved grape tomatoes lend the dish a nice textural variety. Like its two Upper East Side outposts, Felice 15 Gold Street delivers on reliable Italian in a chic but cozy setting.
