Profile

The Financial District’s Beekman hotel became an instant dining hot spot as the home to Tom Colicchio’s American-leaning restaurant and Keith McNally's Augustine. The major draw for these restaurateurs is the stunning, historic space — an 1883 landmarked office building that has many of its original architectural details. The original name, Fowler & Wells, was changed after Colicchio learned the unsavory histories of its namesakes.  But chef Bryan Hunt's menu still feels retro without being kitschy. Think oysters Rockefeller, a warm lobster salad, rabbit schnitzel.
