Woodside's cheap rent brought Chef Patricia Chu to the neighborhood as a resident and a restaurateur. Her small shop blends kitchen and dining room, inviting customers to chat as she smooths out their crêpes. She may mention her training in Manhattan's French restaurants as a pastry chef, but she's more likely refer to experiences in Paris that inspired her signature buckwheat savory crêpes, which ooze gold in the form of griddled, crisp cheese. The menu is concise. Six sweet crêpes, six savory ones. Her more complex crêpes are decadent, like the brimming S'mores variety, while others are more humble, like the unlisted but always available chef's special (Nutella, white chocolate, bananas, strawberries, toasted almonds, and mascarpone).
