Profile

Full Moon joined the crowded ring of Belmont Italian restaurants with a menu stocked with standard pizzeria fare plus paninis and focaccias loaded up with meats, cheeses, and veggies. Neighborhood families and Fordham students line up to order at the counter, and then eat at one of the tables lining the front windows. Pillowy squares of Sicilian surpass reheated slices here, sending up hints of garlic and oregano atop a puffy cloud of a crust. A cheese calzone is stuffed to the bursting point with gooey mozzarella and soft, creamy ricotta perfumed with fresh parsley. Save the carbs from giant tasteless rice balls and apply them toward maddeningly delicious garlic knots, glazed with hot oil. The eggplant parm sandwich is stingy on flavor but the tasty football-size rolls it comes on are from Addeo’s bakery around the corner; most ingredients at Full Moon are sourced from Arthur Avenue vendors.
