Nestled on a cobblestone block of Mercer Street, Galli has all the charm of a rustic Italian trattoria. There’s a simply adorned bar area up front with wooden tables, and banquette seating in the spacious dining room in the back, where the candlelit ambiance is inviting and cozy. The menu is dotted with typical red sauce Italian plates (baked clams, penne vodka, chicken Marsala) alongside newfangled fare including whole-wheat noodles with vegetables and beans. Highlights include a spicy rendition of fried calamari in marinara sauce and, from the signature “parm” menu, a perfectly decadent chicken Parmesan served over spaghetti. Friendly service only adds to the dining experience.Recommended Dishes
