At the heart of Gasparino’s menu are several user-friendly pasta options, allowing diners to mix and match eleven pastas and nine sauces to their individual tastes. The carb selections range from the health-conscious, like whole wheat rotini or gluten-free rice flour penne rigata, to the gluttonous, like abundant piles of al dente semolina conchieglie (shells). Sauces are packed with flavor, like a spicy-sweet red Arrabbiata with just enough tongue-tingling heat to satisfy (the spice can be dialed up or down upon request). Outside the pasta realm, an expert eggplant alla Parmigiano yields slender layers of eggplant that are delicately breaded and crisped, and draped with a thin topping of fresh mozzarella and dabs of homemade marinara. The restaurant occupies an unpretentious, narrow room in a neighborhood crowded with Indian joints. Exposed brick walls, a wine rack, candlelit wooden tables, and dark wood floors exude simplicity and warmth—much like the uncomplicated, pleasing food emerging from the kitchen.

Pre-Fixe Dinner and Brunch menus

On weekdays, a lunch of pasta and a glass of wine is $10. A $15 pre-fixe dinner buys you an appetizer, a pasta, and a small Ferrara’s cannoli for dessert. On weekends, a brunch menu of pastries, antipasti, and an entrée goes for $9.95.
