Though diners aren’t typically destination restaurants save for blue-collar workers, multitasking shoppers, and comfort foodies, this one is. Part of the attraction is the proximity to Queens Center Mall; part of it’s the free parking; and with seating enough for 300, part of it’s the assurance that you’re always going to find a seat in a vinyl booth—albeit one with a view of Queens Boulevard. (You know these customers are not coming back to the Georgia Peach, as it’s fondly called, for the visuals.) So credit the kitchen, which not only nails burgers and omelets but also excels with house specialties like a Reuben with real sauerkraut. And to answer your two most pressing questions: No, your coffee cup never goes unfilled; yes, the pie is homemade. Drink. Eat. Be merry.
Recommended DishesOmelettes, $8; bagels for two, $17.95; soup (lentil, matzoh ball), $2.50; specialty salads, $11; deli duo, $11
