Former Bear Stearns stockbroker John Ricco has invested his family’s Neapolitan recipes in Grandma Rose’s in Williamsburg. The Italian-American spot will have housemade vodka sauce and eggplant parm, plus meatballs made with beef, pork, and veal (vegetarians can opt for eggplant balls in their spaghetti). Regular menu items like $2.50 risotto balls, fried ravioli, fried housemade mozzarella, and of course pizza go over especially well with the late-night crowd. On Wednesdays, twenty-inch pies go for $11. Other daily recession specials include the bizarre Ray’s-meets–Gray’s Papaya combo: a slice, a hot dog, and a soda for $4.
