Since 1978, Hoy Wong has boasted that they sell the best barbecue and roast pork in Chinatown. Order the roast duck and it will be retrieved whole from the window and paraded by your table on its way to the kitchen; soon, that crispy duck will return portioned and ready to be wrapped in folded buns, which are sweet and fluffy. The small, subterranean restaurant is sparse and clean. It's a reliable standby for solid Peking duck and other Chinese classics for diners tired of the lines at Joe's Shanghai and the prices of Peking Duck House.

Recommended Dishes

Peking duck (whole), $25; roast pork with Chinese vegetable, $7.95
