Sharing the lobby of W the Court with nightlife impresario Rande Gerber's slick Wet Bar, Icon does its part to perpetuate the hotel group's strain of minimalist chic with a dark, low-ceilinged dining room. Asian and Mediterranean accents are a refrain on the largely New American menu. A huge helping of pan roasted, honey glazed chicken is enhanced with a contrasting combination of punchy tomato and olive compote and vaguely sweet green basmati rice. Creative, sweet-tart cocktails, many garnished with a colorful tropical flower, also pack a punch. Icon's own bar does a brisk business, whereas the restaurant gets an erratic ebb and flow of diners. On an off night, a couple could cozy up with the sexy space all to themselves.
