As industrial-chic as the current Thai crop and twice as loud, but to its credit the creative kitchen doesn't stint on spice (ubiquitous pink peppercorns included). — Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld
The waitress came by once to ask if our food was ok. When the bill came we paid in cash and left a tip according to the service and what we could afford. The waitress comes back with the change/tip and asked if that was all we intended to leave. She asked if anything was wrong with the service. When we told her no, it was ok she began to insist that guests normally leave a 20% tip and ours was only around 10%. We explained that we left a tip according to the cash we had on hand and offered to put the bill on a credit card if she could return our cash so that we could leave a tip from that. Even with that offer she was not pleased and continued to rant and rave as to how we should've initially at least doubled the tax. She told us to never come back again. Trust me, I never will.
I went to Klong for the first time with my boyfriend last night. The seating was quick, the waitress took our order promptly. The main problem...THE DRINKS!! The bartender needs to know how to make a decent vodka martini (waaay too much vermouth) and skimped on the vodka in the vodka/soda (well soda with a splash of vodka). The whole fish (well whole fish skeleton with 3 small filets) was WAY overpriced.
Could be good if you like really spicy Thai (their specialty I guess). Decor/music was very nice though. Definitely NOT going back because I like to get my money's worth when I dine out and definitely NOT recommending it to any of my friends.
