Lee’s Tavern hasn’t altered much since opening. Sure, it's changed hands (once, in the eighties), and it's been updated with six flat-screens positioned around the wood-paneled bar. But you can still see the sports fans through the broad picture windows as they drink ice-cold, nip-size bottles of Rolling Rock and pump their fists in the air when the home team scores. More importantly, you can still smell the alluring aroma of the eight-slice pies that you don’t need to be a Yankees diehard to love. The crispy, thin but sturdy crust holds its own with any of twelve specialty pies or myriad toppings. Served on beat-up silver pizza-pans with paper plates at chipped Formica tables, the personal-size pies (they’re not on the menu; just ask) almost justify the cheering you'll hear throughout. Oh, wait. That's the game.
