Profile

Not since Drew flashed Dave has Manhattan witnessed a hotter display than the one at Los Dos Molinos—the Union Square branch of the popular Arizona restaurant. The slow, satisfying burn begins with chips and fiery salsa and continues with familiar but superlative Mexican-American fare. Entrées like irresistibly hot “adovada” pork ribs come with rice and beans, a good homemade flour tortilla, and an apology: “Sorry we do not provide a mild sauce, I do not know how to make ‘mild,’ ” reads the chef’s mission statement.

Recommended Dishes

Adovada ribs, $24

Margs are good but not $17 good. We ordered the nachos which were basically tortilla chips with spicy chili topped with cheese. I wouldn't call these nachos. Go to Mexican Radio if you want great Nachos. We also had their guacamole, which was flavorless. Rosa Mexican and Dos Caminos have much better guac. It tasted like chopped salted avocado and not much more than that. I had the green chili enchilada which was fine but nothing special. Whatever you do, check your bill! We were overcharged. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere unless you want bland but spicy overpriced New York Mexican food. I've been peeing from my butt all day and believe me, it's just as spicy coming out. I would only go back for the Margaritas because it's hard to find good ones that aren't too sweet. The bartender was nice.

Nothing special.

The margaritas are great, but the food was mediocre. Definitely overpriced.
