Profile

This venue is closed.

Despite being named for a Latin dance and having Chinese ownership, Mambo Sushi, open since 2006, specializes in Japanese fare and sushi. Menu standouts include noodle and meat entrées, from which there are plenty to choose. The yaki udon is thick, slurpy goodness, with loads of white-meat chicken and chewy noodles in a salt-and-pepper sauce, and teriyaki dishes have a satisfying char-grilled flavor. Even the usual Japanese apps have flair: The edamame is buttery and the ginger-carrot dressing on the house salad has an addictive kick to it.

Recommended Dishes

Edamame, $3.95; yaki udon, $8.95; beef teriyaki, $14.95
