The owner of Jeremy’s Ale House opened this corner spot but has since sold it to his son Lee Holin. Located right off busy Front Street, the two-story space is welcoming, with a brick exterior and a long wooden bar that takes up most of the ground floor. In warmer months, green doors open onto Peck Slip, with two-top tables and folding chairs lining the sidewalk. While the water isn’t visible—the main view is the FDR—the locale makes for excellent people watching, with those coming off Governors Island or from Red Hook’s Ikea. In addition to a selection of clams and oysters from the raw bar, the menu is divided between standard snacks like quesadillas, crispy chicken fingers, and BBQ wings, plus mainstay burgers and sandwiches like the grilled tuna, a generously sized patty on a toasted bun with Thousand Island dressing. For private events, or even a quiet lunch away from the more lively bar, there’s an upstairs area with a handful of tables, cushioned chairs, and a faux fireplace.
