Forsaking its cramped Mulberry Street location for the former Jet 19 not-spot on Cleveland Place, Mexican Radio is a middlebrow margarita-‘n’-fajitas joint for the thick-walleted Nolita set unafraid of carbo-loading and unfazed by the rather prohibitive $46 price tag for a pitcher of margarita. It’s like TGI Friday’s for trustifarians. Burritos, while generously proportioned, cost a surly $17, and the lousy, hurried service is a glorified Wall of Voodoo: The last time we frequented this headache of a restaurant, we waited ten minutes in front of a sea of empty tables at five o’clock while a can’t-be-bothered hostess diligently ignored us.
