There is a pleasant benevolence about Mojo, where the quirky Southwestern food looks great and tastes good, especially if you arrive before local fans pile in. The burger is gloriously decadent, and it's worth hanging at the bar just for superlative skin-on fries, an addictive marvel of genuine spud, salt, spice, and Day-Glo cayenne.

Barbeque chicken salad with tomatoes, black beans, roasted corn, tossed with a barbeque buttermilk dressing and topped with crispy onions, $13

MOJO is a no-go...if you're expecting the usual.

For what this Latin-slash-Southwestern-slash-"Comfort Food" EV restaurant lacked in service, it certainly made up for in flavor. The menu, although slightly chaotic, consisted of dishes ranging from the blue cheese and apple quesadilla (which they were "out of") to mac'n'cheese and pizza. The duck empanadas were intensely overcooked, but juicy and tender in the middle. The fish tacos were filled to the brim with a flaky whitefish and topped with a fresh corn salsa. The braised short ribs, served Fajita-style, were delightfully sweet and flavorful, which makes it difficult to see why one would want to top them with guacamole and sour cream. If you are expecting small dishes of Latin fare, then Mojo is not the place for you. However, if you are somehow craving a burger and fries with your Sangria, than head to Mojo, where, albeit slow, they'll be happy to accommodate you.
