The menu at Mont Blanc is more pan-European than strictly Swiss, offering everything from Wiener schnitzel to manicotti Alfredo. Fondue, served for two, arrives as a bubbling cauldron of rich cheeses (Swiss, Brie, Gruyere) and can be ordered with a platter of shellfish, steak, or cubes of bread. Even better is the raclette, an Alpine treat served on a tableside grill so you can melt your own slices of the aged cheese over plates of boiled potatoes, cured meats, and raw vegetables. The scene is mellow enough: French-speaking couples flank white-clothed tables while a perpetual bar crowd stays glued to televised soccer. The restaurant also has a lovely rear garden shaded by an apple tree and overflowing with hanging flower baskets and ivy — a peaceful refuge from Times Square just a few blocks away.
Prix FixeMont Blanc offers a three-course prix fixe menu for $19.75 at lunch and $34.50 at dinner.
