up until the desert, it was just excellent. mere words cannot do justice to the tiramisu alla mosconi. Phenomenal is an understatement

Being from North Carolina, I wrote the owner, Giovanni, after our first visit in 1994: "We found southern hospitality in the heart of New York City!" My family and I have returned many times over the years, always eating there at least twice per trip. The food, service, friendliness, atmosphere, and decor has never faltered, but has always been the very best! We've recommended it to many friends, who, upon their return, have always raved about it as being the best place they ate in New York City! You cannot go wrong with Monte's!!! My family has traveled from coast to coast and we all agree: Monte's has the best Italian food of all the places we have visited!
