The Rockefeller Center wine bar was only the beginning. Now the Morrells have taken their wine-and-food obsession to the next level—a 209-seat restaurant within spitting distance (so to speak) of Veritas's stellar cellar. The restaurant offers 150 wines by the glass, cheese and small plates at the bar, and the eclectic, wine-friendly cooking of chef Patricia Williams. Plus a boutique stocked with corkscrews and other gadgets for the budding oenophile.

Needs a little work, but decent enough for the price

Aside from a couple of misfires (a citrus hamachi was way too sour, e.g.) it's a decent meal for the price. The decor is a little too "look how cool we are" for my taste, but I suppose there are those who will think it's oh-so-fab. While it may never be a foodie mecca - it won't replace Gramercy Tavern or Veritas anytime soon - it's probably the best alternate choice in the neighborhood for those evenings when you just don't feel like waiting an hour for a table at GT to open up.

Trys hard and fails

You can tell that a lot of effort was put into this place, yet the food just isn't that special and the sound level is way to loud. Wine is forced into each dish, even where it doesn't belong. Portions are small and prices are high. If you want to spend this kind of money, there are much better places to go in Manhattan.
