Profile

Mozzarella & Vino is a great option in midtown for wine and cheese; just don't come expecting a full-fledged dinner. The menu consists predominantly of “affettati & formagi”: meats and cheeses of your choosing for a charcuterie board of two, three, or four items. The full page of options comes with thoughtful descriptions —a nice change of pace from salumi identified only by name and aging time. You’ll want to try a bunch, including the velvety, dry-cured prosciutto cotto and Buffalo ricotta with chestnut honey, which is as “light yet rich” as the menu describes it. The homemade meatballs are a hearty option if you're really hungry, and the carefully selected list of reds and whites includes a wide variety (such as Fiano Donnaluna Deconcilis 2012 and Primitivo Bacmione 2007) available by the bottle or glass. They pair perfectly with the charcuterie plate you should most definitely order.
