With limited dining options in the ‘hood, this slightly sophisticated bar and grill aims to please. Diehard sports fans snag stools at the long mahogany bar and fixate on the wall-mounted flat screen TVs. Drinkers mull around raised pub tables positioned along floor-to-ceiling windows, which flood the brick interior with light during the day and allow for a noirish view of Fort Greene’s main intersection at night. The dining room in back has rows of darkly lacquered wood tables—like a German beer hall—but is also outfitted with electric candles in sconces and wrought iron chandeliers that generate the intimate amber hue of a colonial-era inn. The kitchen nods to upscale fare, but it’s the classic pub grub—like the juicy burgers piled high with roasted red peppers, caramelized onions and mozzarella, or bacon, mushrooms and American cheese—that shine.
