Nuzzled amid Chelsea’s art galleries and nightclubs, this modern Italian eatery smoothly straddles both worlds. Well-heeled gallerists and artists frequent it for lunch; the younger, trendier set prefers late dinners before partying at nearby hotspots like Bungalow 8. A former garage, the restaurant maintains its industrial-chic look via whitewashed brick walls, gray concrete floors, and slatted wood paneling aglow with backlighting. The menu combines pastas that slant South with grilled, sautéed, and roasted entrées primarily from the North. In both style and substance, Naima is a smart and capable haven.
Live DJThu.-Sat., a live D.J. spins records into the wee hours, amping the restaurant’s lounge-like ambiance.
Recommended DishesRavioli capresi, $12; saltimbocca alla romana, $23; carre d’agnello con pure di patate e broccoli al vapore, $28
