The prolific Marcello Assante (owner of Boom, Baldo Vino, Porta Toscana, and others) has teamed up with Melissa Muller (formerly chef-owner of Bleecker Street’s Gallo Nero) to open Organika. Muller plans to use local, organic ingredients whenever possible (local trumps organic when the latter isn’t available), and on the back of her menu, she’ll provide detailed descriptions of the sourcing of ingredients, such as fiore sardo sheep's milk cheese (which she warms and drizzles with lavender honey). Of course she’s serving Neapolitan pizzas, too.
